A Brief History of 2MV Logistics

This family-run freight and distribution company, based in Portsmouth, has grown significantly since its humble beginnings in 2001 with just two men and a van.

Now operating a fleet of over 30 vehicles and managing European and international freight via road, sea, and air, the business has evolved into a complex organisation with diverse roles, from warehouse attendants to logistical coordinators.

With this growth came the need for a more intelligent and flexible communication system. Syn-Star was brought in to modernise their telecoms infrastructure, ensuring seamless internal and external communication across departments and locations.

Project Scope

Syn-Star’s objective was to replace the company’s outdated analogue phone system with a modern VoIP solution tailored to the unique needs of each department.

The scope included installing softphones on PCs, providing mobile handsets and headsets, enabling Busylamp status indicators, and integrating a mobile app for remote access.

The system needed to support multitasking, hybrid working, and efficient call routing while improving safety and productivity in high-noise environments like the warehouse.
