Apple’s augmented reality and virtual reality headsets have been rumoured for quite some time now.
However, the latest report suggests that the company might not launch them anytime soon. According to the new rumour, the Apple vr headsets will cost around £1,655!!
The leak was reported by digital Trends who interveiwed a source from a highly trusted Apple analyst names, Ming-Chi Kuo. research notes stated that, Apple’s AR/VR headset might cost a whopping 2,000 dollars (£1655).
This runs parallel to what Mark Gurman said in his newsletter late last year. Thus there could prove evidence to his claim.
Kuo added that Apple would restrict the number of units to less than 1.5 million for the first version.
In the note written by, Kuo he reiterated the headset will be released at an event in January 2023!
Earlier this year, it was reported to have been delayed until 2023 due to overheating and issues related to the camera and software.
The Apple AR/VR headset is expected to ship with the M1 Pro chipset that powers the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro
Leaks also indicate that the device will have a dozen cameras for tracking hand movements. There will be two high-resolution 8K displays that are likely to be sourced from LG.
As reported by Elec, these displays use OLEDoS tech specifically designed for virtual and mixed reality devices. This is defiantly the next best thing since the excitement over the iphone 11pro ax.
Apple’s mixed reality headset’s alleged £1,655 price could be concerning, especially considering that its competitors have much cheaper offerings on the market already.
